Wireless Headset Batteries Recalled Due to Fire Hazard
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced a recall of batteries used in GN9120 Wireless Headsets due to a fire hazard.
The headsets, manufactured by GN Netcom Inc., are designed to be used professionally, in offices and call centers. The problems occur when an internal short circuit causes the lithium-ion polymer batteries to overheat. The manufacturer has received numerous incident reports of overheating, open flames, property damage and one report of second degree burns requiring medical attention.
Consumers are urged to immediately stop using the recalled headsets, unplug them and contact GN Netcom directly for a replacement battery.
