True Stories Safety Trainers Would Rather Forget

January 7, 2009

NO FLY ZONE

A SafetyXChange member who, understandably as you'll soon see, asked to remain nameless, told SafetyXChange the following story:

“I just finished a full-day training presentation for a major manufacturing company. I thought it went really well. I had even worn my brand new three-piece suit. In short, I was feeling pretty good.

“Then I saw the evaluation forms. At the end of the questionnaire I always ask `Is there anything I could have done differently to enhance the presentation?'

“I'll never forget the answer on one of the forms: ‘Yes. Next time, please zip your fly.’”

Editor's Note: What's the most embarrassing thing that ever happened to you during a training session? Send your stories to me at catherinej@bongarde.com. If we use it, we won't print your name—I promise.
