A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words
Posters are an important part of any safety program. When combined with a solid safety program, a safety poster can help you bring attention to a special topic or portray multiple safety messages. They serve as advertisements, reminders, warnings and sometimes even as laugh-getters – because a little humor never hurts and often helps one to remember.
Here’s one to help you increase employee safety awareness in the warehouse. Furious forklifts, scattered supplies and close calls – they’re all here.

I was read another article that stated try not to read a poster, you can't do it. On a subconscious or other level, your mind will read it. The example they gave was two pictures: one was bill boards in Japan in Japenese which I couldn't read so it didn't register in my mind; the other picture were billboards here in the States which were in English and of course were readable and did register. It's sort of like telling someone to not think of pink hippos, for a brief moment they will think about pink hippos. Also, I think sometime humorous posters are very appropriate. My favorites are from a cartoonist who does a series called "Herman".
