Good News/Bad News

April 29, 2009

Jokes are often used to break the ice in training sessions. Here’s one you can use, courtesy of SafetyXChange member, Ralph White.

Good News: 100% of your employees participated in your company’s emergency evacuation drill and actually left the building as instructed.
Bad News: Eight of them were blown away by the tornado taking place outside at the time of the drill.

Good News: While resting in the hospital after your emergency appendectomy, you received a lovely get-well card from your company’s board of directors.
Bad News: The board resolution to send you the card passed by a vote of 11 to 10.

Good News: Management accepted the job description of your position just the way you wrote it.
Bad News: They formed a search committee to find somebody to fill the position.

Good News: All of the shop workers just love your safety training classes.
Bad News: All of the shop workers also love liverwurst and athlete’s foot.

Good News: Attendance at your safety training sessions has increased dramatically in the last two weeks.
Bad News: You were on vacation in the last two weeks.
