- Worker safety committee members act as safety resources/representatives for their respective departments; supervisors work with these representatives in resolving local safety issues and both supervisor and safety representative contribute to weekly departmental safety meetings for employees.
- Worker member of safety committee is full time safety assistant working with company safety officer.

| Safety Inspections are proactive, up to date and produce positive results for the safety program. |

- Review inspection checklists frequently and place special emphasis on factors involved in recent incidents;
- Inspection checklist identifies positive improvements/initiatives and is linked to reward system.
- Inspection system encourages incident reporting by asking about and recording incidents.
- Track inspection results in a computer database to allow for regular reviewing of results and ensure effective communication.

- Set up a Joint Corporate level Health and Safety Policy Committee with representation from senior management and senior union representatives.
