The risk is that people do not clean vegetables/fruits properly and they don't always cook food completely. Food that arrives on our tables today is not the same as say, 30-40 years ago. With the long distances that food travels, those agents added to perserve them need to be cleansed or completely cooked out of the foods. Now, of course, there are things on this list that can't be washed or cooked completely and they will require a more dilligent eye (read those expiration/use by dates) and using the sensory organ that let's you know when something "smells" bad.

So - I understand that there are various foods that contribute to illness. So - what's the point? What can we as individuals do with this information? Are there other studies that help us understand symptoms and supplements to take should a certain vital food product, or nutrient, be eliminated from our diet? Is there a follow up article to answer these questions? Thank you.

    Yes this might be true,
and so we have to wash it ourselfs

    However
Wahat the food industry should do,...
shouldn't they care about the food-supply chain, customer satification and social responsibility

I thnink this vital information should be utilise in putting some sort of restricition of some chemical or biological agents, law and so on

In addition, I have lived in the west and middle east and the difference is highly noticable,

    thnaks for the good information
