Description

Large NC Electrical Service provider has immediate need for a Safety Manager at its West central NC location. Ideal candidate will have a BS degree in Safety / Industrial Hygiene or related field and 3 - 6 years supervisory experience in the area of Safety with demonstrated ability to plan, direct, implement and evaluate programs. Prior experience as a Journeymen is desirable but not required. Individual must have in depth knowledge of safety codes, standards, regulations as apply to Utilities, Propane etc.; must have excellent instructional skills; must have experience developing safety programs and planning implementation; must be very familiar with worker's compensation programs. This position is exempt and may have requirement for working extra hours. Position will be responsible for planning, developing comprehensive safety policies and procedures; training managers and employees in work site safety practices; prepares and provides recommendations regarding trends, accidents, hazards as relates to health and well being; inspects facilities for existing or potential accidents or health hazards; follows up to insure corrective measures are addressed and implemented; ascertains that NRECA Safety Accreditation is obtained and maintained; administers Worker's Compensation Program.
