Position Objectives
Reporting to the Manager, Health, Security and Safety (HSS), this position is responsible for monitoring the performance and supervising the shifts and shift duties of the regular security officers.Your focus will be to make recommendations on amending policies and procedures as they apply to the department, providing and recommending training for staff and ensuring all duties are performed with a high level of customer service and confidentiality. An important function of this position is to be able to conduct investigations as required and ensure the quality control of investigations.

Responsibilities
* Create and maintain a departmental operational procedures manual
* Be responsible for training HSS staff and front line staff in their emergency procedure responsibilities, including emergency response drills.
* Review policy and procedures and recommend changes to the Manager, HSS as required.
* Manage the operational files to ensure all incident reports are recorded properly and within the guidelines of the Freedom of Information and Privacy Act and that the investigative work is completed and recorded before concluding any file.

Qualifications
To be the suitable candidate, you will have:
* Supervisory experience
* Previous experience related to law enforcement or the security industry
* Current qualifications in first aid, heart rescue and fire prevention
* Certificate in law enforcement or security is an asset
* Knowledge of computer based systems

Special Requirements
Candidates offered a position with the Centre, in this capacity, will be required to obtain a criminal record check through the local R.C.M.P. detachment, verifying a clear record before a final job offer can be made.

This is a Management/PSP position, with a one year probationary period.
