Safety Officer

Position Description:
ValleyCrest Landscape Development, the nation's largest landscape and site construction company, has made the vision of the most prominent developers, landscape architects, general contractors, homeowners and public agencies a reality. We are currently searching for a Safety Officer who will assist our project management team with construction documentation and construction management of large scale site development projects.

The Safety Officer is responsible for:

  • Identifying and investigating potential workplace hazards and providing recommendations to eliminate or reduce those hazards
  • Creating, monitoring and implementing safety policies and procedures
  • Ensuring that the company and branch employees are in compliance with all regulatory standards
  • Increasing employee safety awareness by providing comprehensive and consistent training (both regulatory and company mandated)
  • Coordinating safety activities and training to ensure implementation of safety awareness programs throughout the organization
  • Facilitating communication and cooperation between management and employees on safety and health issues
  • Providing direction on safety programs and procedures based on organizational goals and policies
  • Providing internal consulting services to staff members and branch contacts on technical or operational problems relative to safety
  • Generating reports to management and various supervisory personnel which identifies issues and/or demonstrate results


Position Requirements:

  • Must be able to work in a team environment
  • Bachelors degree preferred
  • 3 to 6 years of project/process management experience
  • Minimum of 5 years in safety and health industry
  • Must be able to travel to branch job sites
  • Bilingual (Spanish) a plus
