Occupational Health & Safety Officer

Your mission:

  • Develop and implement an Occupational Health & Safety Program
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and safe work practices related to safety
  • Adept in interpreting and applying applicable legislation, regulations, standards and guidelines, such as the Workers’ Safety, Insurance Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, knowledgeable of the operation of a Joint Health and Safety Committee as well as WHIMS
  • Establishing training requirements and providing quality in-house training
  • Conduct effective safety audits, inspections, and investigations

Your profile:

  • Preferably, you are a member of the BCRSP or able to become certified as a Canadian Registered Safety Professional
  • A mechanical and/or electrical background in a industrial/manufacturing setting or construction is desired, experience in wind turbines are an advantage
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint, with excellent investigative, administrative, analytical, report-writing and record-keeping skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English and French
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities
  • High mobility (willingness to move and to travel), flexibility, openness and team spirit
