The Manager of Occupational Health & Safety will be responsible to provide direct tactical support to regional OH&S leadership in the areas of OH&S training (inclusive of interactive and technology based learning), OH&S program development, working to resolve compliance related issues with the regional leadership, incident investigation and data compilation to support the National OH&S Director related to incident trend analysis.

The role requires a mix of project management, needs analysis, training curriculum development and practical tactical support delivery. The Manager of Occupational Health & Safety will support the design and development of comprehensive programs for all aspects of occupational health and safety across the Corporation.

Key Business Functions, Responsibilities & accountabilities will include:

* Working in a tactical manner to support National OH&S initiatives on a Regional basis, thereby maximizing cross-regional efforts on a national basis

* Guiding the development and maintenance of a strategic OH&S training plan based on competency requirements for all positions within the organization.

* Leading the conceptual analysis, design, development, deployment, maintenance, and enhancement of end-user training for all aspects of occupational health and safety.

* Providing support to regional OH&S professionals that will lead OH&S program efforts for store, RSC, and office employees.

* Collaborating with operational leadership and HR/ OH&S to stay connected to signifant process changes; monitor OH&S programs (particularly training) to ensure ongoing effectiveness and efficiency; facilitate appropriate process and content changes; and align methodologies with established and planned recordkeeping practices.

* Working with cross-functional teams, as appropriate, to participate in the development, design and implementation of required OH&S programs.

* Measure, review and refine initiatives to address evolving business and OH&S needs based on developed metrics related to assurance of successful learning initiatives.

* Assess program impact as it relates to business results and OH&S performance

Job Requirements:

* Minimum of 5 years of occupational health and safety related experience, with a focus on training & development, and a career progression showing increasing scope and responsibility.

* Prior people management experience with proven ability to manage and work within a team that is located in multiple locations.

* Requires in-depth knowledge of occupational health and safety principles and practices as well as training and instructional design methodology.

* Experience in using instructional technologies to increase the accessibility and reduce training expense.

* Proven background in the development and facilitation of course curriculum and content for technical skill (systems) and role-based applications.

* OHS Certificate, CRSP designation or equivalent (or actively pursuing designation) an asset

* Experience working in a large organization with multiple retail and warehouse operations is an asset

* Demonstrated ability to discreetly handle confidential information

* Ability to work independently as well as with a multidisciplinary group

* Computer-related experience including data entry, word processing, presentations, and spreadsheet use

* Strong organizational skills, as well as being oriented to accuracy and detail

* Candidates with lesser qualifications may be considered at a developmental level
