Logistics Facility Safety Coordinator (1 Year Contract)
As a member of the management team, the Facility Safety Coordinator will facilitate the delivery of health and safety programs within the LCBO’s Ottawa Retail Service Centre. Responsibilities include investigating injuries and recommending preventative action and remedial measures, assisting in WSIB modified work solutions, safety related training, participating in the JHSC, coordinating and administering the WHMIS program, maintaining databases and statistics, and undertaking health and safety related projects.

This opportunity is suited to an individual with a post secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety and one year of experience as a safety coordinator, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. You must possess a strong working knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation, standards and guidelines such as the Workers’ Safety and Insurance Act, Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and associated regulations and standards. A member of the BCRSP or the ability to become certified as a Canadian Registered Safety Professional is preferred. You must possess excellent oral and written communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills including tact and diplomacy. Familiarity with Microsoft Office and its various programs is required. Experience in a unionized setting is an asset.
