- Environmental, Safety and Health Mgr

Our client, a leading manufacturer of specialty chemicals for a variety of applications, is seeking an experienced Environmental, Safety & Health Manager

The EH&S Manager will oversee the compliance of their production plant, located in North Carolina, with applicable regulations and standards.​ The EH&S Manager is also responsible for developing and implementing programs and procedures to assure safe operation of the company’s manufacturing plant.

The EH&S Manager will facilitate the preparation of environmental permit applications, and related documentation associated with capital projects and plant operations.​ The EH&S Manager will oversee the permitting process to assure compliance with Title V, RCRA, EPA, and other federal, state and local environmental regulations and standards.

The EH&S Manager will supervise the activities of all EH&S department personnel, and will set the tone and vision for regulatory compliance and maintenance of environmental & safety standards for the production plant.

This position is located in North Carolina .

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

* Spearhead facility compliance with state, federal and local EH&S laws, regulations and standards.

* Interface with Federal, State and Local regulatory personnel regarding issues associated with reporting, permits, compliance audits and EH&S program development

* Spearhead the development of EH&S-related goals, targets and other objectives for the plant and for the company.

* Develop programs and procedures to assure that stated goals and objectives are achieved.

* Lead safety and environmental compliance audits, and supervise drills and other emergency related events.

REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:

* BS degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering or related discipline.

* 7+​ years experience in EH&S compliance in a commercial and/​or manufacturing environment.

* Experience in a chemical or chemical related manufacturing environment.

* Knowledge of government EH&S regulations and standards.

* Working knowledge of PSM (Process Safety Management) and RMP (Risk Management Programs) as they apply to chemical production.
