Environmental Health and Safety Supervisor
Exceptional opportunity with progressive Niagara area employer for position of Supervisor, Environmental Control, Occupational Health & Safety.​ Successful candidate will be a University graduate with a B.​Sc in Environmental Science or Engineering, and possess 7 - 10 years environmental EOH experience in an industrial setting, including minimum 5 years relevant supervisory experience.​ Environmental controls experience in a chemical or industrial process environment would be a significant asset.​
Incumbent will have responsibility for the development and execution of strategies to address new and proposed environmental and occupational health regulations and policies in the plant, ensuring compliance with current legislation and company policies.​ Other accountabilities to include:
Provide direction and support to operations and management on environmental and occupational health matters and the development of standards
Address facility legacy issues through the development of planning initiatives in consultation with all concerned stakeholders
Conduct EHS reviews of all facility capital projects
Provide support on legal issues
Supervise, train, coach and mentor subordinates, including (2) Environmental Analysts
Be conversant with and monitor compliance to relevant legislation (CEPA, EPA, OWRA, OHSA).​
Execute procedural changes, program development, implementation and improvement
Provide support to management on decisions relating to capital spending, legal/​property matters, resource planning and hiring

The above is a temporary contract position for one year.​ Salary in the $75K range or commensurate with experience.​
