We are currently recruiting for:
Environmental Health & Safety Officer
Responsibilities for this position include the following:
* Maintains current knowledge regarding industry ‘best practices’ and provincial health and safety legislation to inform Managers, Supervisors, etc.
* Provides consultation expertise on accident prevention, disability management, risk management and other health and safety practices
* Complete the Certificate Of Recognition audit annually
* Assists in the development of early return to work solutions and prevention of lost time initiatives for multiple locations across Canada
* Promotes company and regulatory health and safety practices in the workplace
* Completes all required documentation and reports
* Performs other duties as required
Primary Qualifications Required:
* Related post-secondary education is required
* Minimum of 1 – 3 years related experience in a similar environment
* Completion or coursework towards Construction Safety Officer certification an asset
* Completion of Alberta Safety Council internal auditor courses a strong asset
* Must be willing to travel to other branches as required
* Working knowledge of injury/illness and rehabilitation guidelines is required
* Familiarity with Occupational Health & Safety Act, WCB Act and associated Codes & Standards, WCB Acts
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills and proficiency with computers are essential
* Must be a strong team player, and able to display diplomacy and assertiveness
Status of position
Salaried position, Hours 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
