DetailsSAFETY TECHNICIAN

West Valley Construction in Campbell has an excellent opportunity for an experienced safety technician who is looking for a growth opportunity. The successful candidate will be a professional with at least 3 years experience, 2-year degree (4-year preferred with emphasis in construction or safety), 30-hour OSHA construction industry certificate, working knowledge of regulations. This position is located in Campbell, CA. Must be willing to travel to various sites with minimal overnight travel required.

Responsibilities include:
• Provide safety support to divisions
• Enforce Company safety policies and procedures as well as Cal-OSHA, EPA, Hazard communications, DOT
• Handle all work-related injuries from investigations to communications with doctors/insurance, and all paperwork
• Conduct inspections of yards and construction sites for compliance with safety regulations and company policy
• Develop safety meeting topics; conduct safety meetings
• Provide safety training on a variety of topics; develop training plans
• Conduct site inspections

Other qualifications:
• Knowledge of traffic control, trenching, heat illness, crane safety, work zone safety
• Experience negotiating all insurance lines, preferred
• Must be articulate with ability to communicate effectively with labor force as well as executives, and agency representatives
• Excellent writing and presentation skills
• Work effectively with external agencies, i.e. OSHA, EPA, DOT, CHP
• Computer proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Power Point
• Strong work ethic and ethical standards
