SAFETY & HEALTH OFFICER
(Water Pollution Control Facility)
APPROX. MO. SALARY RANGE: $4,587 to $8,154

This individual will develop and administer programs to ensure employee, contractor and visitor safety within a city department; to ensure facility compliance with safety and health regulations, policies and procedures; and to perform a variety of tasks related to assigned area of responsibility
MIN QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in industrial hygiene, occupational safety, occupational health or a field closely related. A combination of formal education and directly related work experience may substitute for the degree. Four years experience developing or administering an industrial safety program, or experience directly related.
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATE:
-Possession and maintenance of an applicable, valid driver’s license on the date of application and maintenance thereafter.
-Possession of a Certified Occupational Hearing Conservationist certification from the Council on Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation within six months of the date of appointment and maintenance thereafter.
-Possession of Work Zone Traffic Control and Safety certification from the International Municipal Signal Association within six months of the date of appointment and maintenance thereafter.
-Within six months of the date of appointment, must successfully complete a training course that meets OSHA standards which qualifies participant as a “competent person,” as defined by OSHA.
