Several years ago, one of our trainers was giving a class on personal protective equipment. He was showing them cut-resistant gloves and decided to demonstrate how effective they were. He took a knife and ran it across one of his palms. He showed the class, but a student asked the instructor to look at his hand. It was bleeding profusely, and he had to go to a hospital to have the wound stitched. I doubt the students were very impressed with the effectiveness of these gloves, but at least they realized the limitations.
