Are You Suffering From Burnout

PART I: EARLY STAGES OF BURNOUT

Lately:

  1. I've been more tired than usual.
  2. I've been less patient.
  3. My sleep habits have changed.
  4. I've been irritable.
  5. My eating habits have changed.
  6. I often find myself thinking about work when I'm not there.
  7. I'm having a hard time making decisions.

Results
How many of these statements did you check?

7-10: You're definitely suffering through the early stages of job burnout. Take a vacation and give yourself a break.
4-6: You're running low on gas and may be getting close to burnout. Take it easy.
1-3: Keep on keeping on.

PART II: ADVANCED BURNOUT

Check off each statement that you agree with:

  1. I don't give a rat's behind about my job anymore.
  2. I'm withdrawing into myself.

7-10: You're clearly in the advanced stages of burnout. Get counseling, a new job or both.
4-6: You may be going through burnout. Be aware of the problem and get help if things don't improve.
1-3: You're not in advanced burnout.
