How to Maintain Safety During Layoffs

    Morale and enthusiaism definately drop when layoffs are announced or anticipate in our shop. Most workers continue to perform in the same safe manner - but there is always a select few who seem to think WCB wage subsidy payments are better then unemployement insurance benifits.
    I ask the supervisors to pay more attention to how the workers are performing the tasks - and the select few - well - you generally know who they are anyway so they are fairly easy to apply special attention to.
