A Holiday Thank-You to Mr. Edgar
I would like to thank Gerald A. Edgar for writing his article about protecting employees from carbon monoxide poisoning (SafetyXChange, Nov. 1, 2005). I asked SafetyXChange for permission to reprint the article in one of our employee newsletters. One of our employees read the story and it persuaded her to install a CO detector in her home. As soon as she plugged it in, the alarm went off. Needless to say, the fire department came to check out the problem. Sure enough, she and her family had been exposed to low levels of carbon monoxide. Gone unchecked, this could have resulted in a far worse outcome for this family. I believe that situations such as this validate the importance of encouraging employee safety at home as well as in the workplace. Once again, thank you on a job well done!
Kindest regards.
