3 Quick Ways to Encourage Employee Health and Fitness
May 18, 2010
Today is National Employee Health & Fitness Day in the United States. But, given the connection between fitness and safety, any day is a good day to spread awareness about workplace health and fitness.
Here are three quick ways you can encourage your workers to focus on health and fitness at work:
1. Coordinate a physical activity for everyone to participate in at lunch hour. Even a simple walk around the block counts;
2. Provide your team with fruit and granola bars as snacks to promote healthy choices; and
3. Incorporate 5-minute daily sessions of stretching and flexibility exercises at the beginning of each shift.

Good Reminder. This is a BIG deal - and is an important part of lifestyle - not be taken lightly. But let's hope our audience is not fooled into automatically equating that "granola bars = healthy". Many contain high fructose corn syrup and other ingredients that do not qualify as real food. 100 times better than donuts, but other whole grain substitutes are a better choice. Thanks for the community safety share, Catherine!
