Jeffrey (Gunny) Evans is the Environmental Safety and Health Trainer for the largest Vitrification Waste Treatment Plant (Vit Plant) in the world. Located in the southeastern corner of the state of Washington, the Vit Plant is being built by Bechtel National for the U.S. Department of Energy. When completed, the Vit Plant will mitigate millions of gallons of radioactive waste leftover from atomic bomb making during the cold war.
Training and introducing hundreds of employees to the Nuclear Safety and Quality Culture of the construction site, Gunny uses unconventional training processes and his passion for the success of others to help with comprehension and retention of the methodologies of the project.
Gunny has been with Bechtel for six years. Before that, he worked with General Physics Corporation, training employees in the destruction of nerve agent, mustard agent and other chemical weapons in the United States Chemical Weapons Storage Program.
Gunny spent 20 years of faithful and dedicated service in the United States Marine Corps and now in the civilian sector he is continuing his fight Protecting the Workforce of America.
