Nomination Essay:

Paul is an operations technician at the QE-1 unit (Olefins) and has worked at this plant for 17 years and in the chemical industry for @ 30 years. Although he is not per say a safety professional, HE IS A SAFETY PROFESSIONAL. He makes safety and looking out for himself and others his number one priority. His is on many of the safety committee teams is always present and participates at safety steering team meetings. Paul is a leader in our plants safety processes even though it is not his normal job. Paul develops safety procedures for the unit, he speaks of hazards and ways to correct them, he participates in safety audits and we know we can go to Paul to help solve safety issues. Paul also participates in home safety programs. Some of his discussions are about home safety and things he has seen, read a bout or even been involved in. In all this , at work or at home he asks for nothing in return except that we all go home the same way we came to work. In one piece. I would like to recognize Paul because he is a real safety hero.
